Coaching plays a significant role in broadening educators’ instructional repertoire and improving teaching and learning. During this highly interactive workshop, you will learn how to use the Marzano Instructional Coaching Model for job-embedded professional development. First, you will acquire specific instructional coaching strategies and a protocol for providing effective feedback. Then you will practice using the strategies and feedback protocol with short video coaching simulations.

  • Understand the Marzano Instructional Coaching Model for instructional coaching and how it can be used with any instructional strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of how to establish a solid foundation for coaching relationships.
  • Learn strategies for offering targeted feedback, nurturing the drive for self-improvement, and engaging teachers in the process of growing their professional knowledge and skills.
  • Explore the Marzano concept of instructional rounds as an extension of instructional coaching and a way to coach small groups of teachers.
