Workshops & Conferences

Teaching in the standards-based classroom requires significantly more than simply knowing the standards. A true focus on standards in the classroom requires a teacher to understand multiple elements of a standards-based learning environment, including planning, instruction, assessment, and feedback. This session will present a thoughtful and logical approach to planning for and delivering a high-quality opportunity to learn that increases the potential for students to acquire understanding of the knowledge and skills included in standards. Participants will walk away with information, insights, and ideas as well as a plethora of resources for use in their own classrooms.

Effective teaching is a complex but critical endeavor. During this two-day workshop, Kristin Poage arms educators with tools and strategies to improve their practice at all levels of experience and expertise.

Attendees will participate in the coaching process through the use of short videos of classroom instruction to experience the process, tools, and feedback protocol that will be explored in the workshop.
