Doug Rigby, EdM, is the assistant superintendent of Uinta County School District #1 in Evanston, Wyoming. With 28 years of experience in education, he previously served as a social studies teacher, coach, and principal. He is passionate about creating environments where all students learn at high levels.
Following his commitment to learning for all, in 2004 he created and led as principal a new accredited alternative school within Uinta County School District #1–an accomplishment of which he is most proud.In Doug’s current role as assistant superintendent, he is responsible for curriculum, instruction, assessment, principal and teacher professional development, and human resources for the district’s secondary schools. All of the schools in Doug’s district are part of the Marzano High Reliability Schools Network and each has applied for, or earned, Model PLC at Work® recognition.
Doug has a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and secondary education and teaching from the University of Wyoming, and he earned a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Idaho State University.
