Brad McCloskey currently serves as the associate superintendent of Ottumwa Community Schools. He began his more than 20-year career in education in Ottumwa, teaching biology, anatomy, and advanced anatomy at the high school level. During that time, he also coached football and track. Over the course of his career, he has served as a teacher and building administrator across various school districts in Iowa. He consistently describes Ottumwa Schools as the most mission-focused and student-centered system he has been a part of.
Brad’s educational philosophy emphasizes teamwork, mutual accountability, and continuous professional growth. He believes student success is best achieved through a collaborative professional learning community where educators work together, using data to inform instruction and modeling a passion for learning.
