David Franklin, EdD, is an author, professor of education, and consultant and has worked with school leaders and teachers around the country in the areas of school vision, instruction, technology, and collaboration. Dr. Franklin is a professor of education for National University and teaches courses in the teacher education and education administration departments.
He is the author of the best-selling 2018 book Can Every School Succeed?: Transforming an American Icon. Dr. Franklin also maintains a blog entitled “The Principal’s Desk,” which has readers in 170 countries around the world.
Dr. Franklin has presented at national and international education conferences, keynoting the Tenth Annual Ed Leadership International Roundtable in Lucknow, India, discussing the implication of technology on the school leader. Dr. Franklin continues to be a sought-after presenter in the areas of academic intervention, school leadership, creating a shared vision, creating common assessments, and data analysis. He was named 2011 Administrator of the Year for the Alum Rock Union Elementary School District, as well as the 2014 Principal of the Year in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
He earned a doctorate in educational leadership from California State University, East Bay, a master’s degree in education technology from National University, and a BA in music from the University of California, San Diego.
