Kathy Cawthron has worked in public education for 34 years, with 26 of those years in campus and district leadership roles. She led her last two campuses through High Reliability Schools Levels 1–3 certifications and rebranded her former elementary campus as an arts integration academy.

Kathy Cawthron has worked in public education for 34 years, with 26 of those years in campus and district leadership roles, including eight years as a teacher, eleven years as an assistant principal, nine years as an elementary principal, three years as the director of PreK–6 instruction, and three years as a middle school principal. Kathy has successfully led campus and district school improvement efforts on Title I campuses, and she led her last two campuses through High Reliability Schools Levels 1–3 certifications, rebranding her former elementary campus as an arts integration academy. Kathy was twice named a Top 5 finalist in the HEB Excellence in Education Elementary principal category and has also been named the Texas Art Education Association principal of the year.
