Effective teaching is a complex but critical endeavor. During this 2-Day Workshop, the presenter arms educators of all levels—from teachers to superintendents and principals—with tools and strategies to improve their practice.

Participants will gain practical applications and strategies that they can use in the classroom to improve student achievement.

Discussion and learning will focus on the importance of a common language for talking about instruction and a framework for effective teaching using the New Art and Science of Teaching framework as an example, which provides teachers with research-based strategies they can use in their classrooms.

Join us for two days filled with learning, growth, and collaboration.

In order to receive the discounted hotel room rate, please mention Marzano Resources. After the deadline listed below, rates will be determined by the hotel. While discounted rooms in our hotel room block may be sold out, the primary hotel may still have rooms available at their standard rates. Please inquire directly with the hotel.

Workshops held at the Iowa Training Center, located in downtown Des Moines in the Weitz Building, do not include a hotel room block. For your convenience, we provide a list of nearby hotels to assist with travel planning. The Training Center is one block, across Park Street, with street level entrance off Fifth Avenue from the Hilton. Access is also available via the downtown skywalk system from the second floor of the Hilton. Attendees may book accommodation directly through the hotel’s website or by calling the hotel. You are not required to stay at any of the suggested hotel(s).

Parking Information: For those driving in, parking is available at the City of Des Moines Public Parking Garage located at 525 Fifth Avenue. From the garage, you may access the Training Center via the Skywalk or street-level entrance off Fifth Avenue. Metered street parking is also available.
