Supporting Beginning Teachers Virtual Workshop

Effectively supporting beginning teachers is essential for retaining talent, nurturing confidence, and building a foundation for instructional excellence. In this two-part virtual workshop, leaders, coaches, and mentors will deepen their understanding of what new teachers need most and learn research-aligned practices to support them fully. Across both sessions, participants will engage in interactive learning, reflection, and application focused on real mentoring contexts. Participants will leave with practical strategies and tools they can implement immediately to support beginning teachers—and help them thrive during their early career years and beyond.

By the end of this two-part virtual workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the foundational research on teacher induction and support systems for beginning teachers.
  • Learn the key components required to build strong mentoring relationships.
  • Implement actionable strategies that provide beginning teachers with emotional and instructional support.
  • Frame essential instructional support strategies within a common language of instruction, including how to engage in goal setting, focused practice, and focused feedback.
